What a great, positive experience at Gate City Events & Lodging. The Rutten family treated us like THEIR family for our son's wedding. The main house is gorgeous, the motel rooms spacious and clean. The event center was a perfect place for the reception. The grounds were immaculately kept for the outdoor ceremony and we were blessed with a beautiful Fall day.

Perfect place for a large family get together! Some stayed in house, some camper, some stayed in motel rooms. Everybody had a great time! Lawn is huge, great for a family game of kickball! Highly recommend!

We rented the house, event center, and motel rooms for the weekend. The owners were absolutely amazing to work with, it was well decorated in general so we did not have to add much of our own to make it perfect for us! Being able to stay on the property for us and our guests made it perfect so no-one had to drive after having a good time. This is a great place with great people, we will be using it again for different occasions!

RV park Great location close to Downtown, not far from Major Highway 29, quiet beautiful large trees for shade, owner communication is wonderful picks up phone right away, WiFi services, picnic tables, huge events building on site.

I like to give credit due where it's due. I'm passing through the town of Canton South Dakota on highway 18 hitch hiking. I stopped and got a room for the night. I had the opportunity to meet the Owner named Tom I found him to be a totally genuine nice person. Very polite and outright nice people. This is a beautiful little campground and town as well. The Motel here is awesome Folks passing through the town of Canton please don't pass this place up. Let's support our mom and pop American run small businesses and give them all the business they can get. Thumbs up to a great place and awesome

AMAZING VENUE! Gate City was so great to work with for my wedding weekend. We took advantage of staying onsite in the beautiful home that you can rent. It is STUNNING!! Clean, cozy and so convenient. We planned on getting married outside, but due to the rain, we had to make a last minute decision to move it inside to the reception area. Gate City was so accommodating and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding weekend. Amazing, kind people. I would recommend to anyone looking to have their big day there or just looking to rent the house for a group getaway. You won't be disappointed.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! I couldn't imagine a better place to have had my wedding. The venue is amazing. The house fit my entire wedding party and attendants comfortably for the whole weekend and it was great being able to have everyone in the same place. We also had the rehearsal dinner and the gift opening in the house. The reception area is extremely spacious and easily fit my 300 guests. It has a great rustic chic feel. I seriously have nothing but good things to say about Gate City Events, and I would recommend it highly to any bride :)

The room was very clean and updated. It is a larger than normal room, with a tv and mini fridge. The bathroom was very clean and nice. The rooms felt very new and nice. The bed was comfortable.

plenty of bathrooms, huge kitchen facility, handicap accessible and
has rustic feel. There is a huge house on site with indoor pool, a full
hook-up campground, and a small hotel. It has everything and the
owners are great! They worked hard
to make my daughters day even
